Boston-based Ceres and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants honored the 2007 Spheres of Influence Report Pure Strategies developed with Seventh Generation as best North American report for an SME.
Judges cited the report’s (www.svg2007report.org) candid reflection on the challenges of long-term sustainability for the company, the industry, and for society. The judges further commended the letter by CEO Jeffrey Hollender for its insightful discussion of the importance — and difficulty — of being a transparent company. In addition to in-depth coverage of sourcing, product design, supply chain engagement, carbon footprint and outreach efforts, the report details the company’s efforts to conduct traceability studies on its cleaning products — an interesting challenge in a time of increasingly global supply chains.
